The morning canvassing with Percy in Buckden and this afternoon taking Debbie and Sundance on my own to Pony Club before home before a big storm to more news coverage of Paddy Ashdown’s visit

An active day today. I spent this morning canvassing with Percy in Buckden and putting up as many poster boards as possible. I also had a few other things to do that left me quite tired before the day’s main event. This afternoon, I had to take Debbie and Alex Naylor and their two ponies to the pony club on my own as Fiona was ill and had hurt her back. She helps us into the trainer with the ponies but I had to drive them there; help prepare the girls and the ponies; get them in the box and back safely. Surprisingly, I managed to do all of this and it was quite an enjoyable event. We did not get back until after 9pm and later by the time the trailer and ponies had been put away. The first of the local newspapers arrived tonight – Hunts Post – on its front page and headlines were all very form favourable to us and the Paddy Ashdown visit. The weather stayed fine today but the heavens opened with a big storm just as the pony club event finished.
