Having prepared for the visit of our relations, we first welcomed Mum and then Freda and Alf and the rest of the day in grief and reminiscing
A preparation day for our visit relatives. We decided early in the day that Debbie was too ill to go horse riding and would have to stay at home. I organised the house and was ready for Mum’s arrival in late morning. She came into the kitchen and had morning coffee with us. We had just finished lunch when Freda and Alf phoned from the station having arrived early from Cornwall. I collected them and came back to Mum in the family. A long afternoon during which Mum went through her full cycle of emotions and ended up by being a bit difficult by the time she was collected and returned to Weald House. We sat for the rest of the evening chatting about Mum and Dad and our family upbringing. Thus late to bed.
