Into Wroxham for coffee at the Riverside Cafe again before doing some shopping the hottest day ever recorded, beating the previously hottest, in 1911, and then using the Heronshaw electric power to update my electronic diary for this last week or two and this was about as much as I could do in the heat of the day! This evening, we took the Paxton Princess away from the moorings and cruised up to Wroxham and back as there was nowhere to moor. This morning was hot from a very early time and we had breakfast on the balcony again to get out of the heat. We found out later that today was the hottest day ever recorded, beating the previously hottest, in 1911, by a degree Fahrenheit! I had taken a bath last night (and Diana and Daniel had one this morning) and so we are making good use of our riverside base. Then we went into Wroxham for coffee at the Riverside Cafe again before doing some shopping. This afternoon, I also used the opportunity of the Heronshaw electric power to update my electronic diary for this last week or two and this was about as much as I could do in the heat of the day. This evening, we took the Paxton Princess away from the moorings and cruised up to Wroxham in the hope of getting to see the Barton House model railway which was organising a special event but there was nowhere to moor as there were three pleasure wherries occupying all of the space and, being Friday evening, all of the neighbouring boat-yards were saving their moorings for the turn-round of their own hire fleets. We came back at dusk and I felt very tired and not too well as we moored up at Heronshaw again. Iraqi troops mass on Saudi Arabian border and a new Gulf war seems to be imminent.
