To bed earlier last night but still tired when woken up this morning. Though my morning tea came at 7.00am, I was not ready for breakfast at 8.00am and the rest of the family had left the table by the time I arrived. Even so, Della came and sat with me to keep me company. This morning, I went out with Diana and Daniel into St Neots to have a haircut. Then coffee together in the Harvest Bakery before we came home. Debbie was at her horse-riding, but Diana did not allow her to stay long because of her need to finish off her project. After lunch, I just did a few chores and read the morning mail. These action items included investigating the status of the outstanding things on the boat and ordering a couple of battery chargers to be permanently installed there.

Today, I also found out about lower cost computers and portable versions of the Mac. It seems that the portable is over £3,000 which rules it out and the MAC plus, with two 800k floppies and 1Mb of memory is better value with a carrying case at £750. After tea, I cleared things up and then prepared for this evening's meeting of the St Neots Museum where we have to report the problems over the Shady Walk site. It was a poorly-attended and rather depressing meeting, with the other members of the committee reluctant to accept the reality of the situation, but in the end a sort of formula was worked out to press the Town Council to continue the application whilst also asking the District to pursue the possibility of a Riverside Park site. There were even fewer members of my fund-raising committee present for our meeting that followed and I kept the business to a minimum as a result. The uncertainty over a site has just about knocked the stuffing out of everybody once again. Once home, I telephoned my Town Council colleagues, Michael and Derek, to brief them to help at tomorrow's Council meeting and also telephoned the Museum Chairman, David Rudd, to emphasise the importance of him talking to the Town Clerk before the meeting as well.
