Percy struggled to understand HDC Housing Finance
Percy struggled to understand HDC Housing Finance

A sluggish start to the day impeded by many phone calls and issues with my Liberal Democrat colleagues as Percy struggled understanding Housing Finance but then coffee in St Neots with Di and a session clearing fallen leaves off of the lawns. Iraq is considering the release of all foreign hostages, but the rumours are of advanced plans for a U.S. invasion in mid-November.

I slept reasonably well after being restless at first and so, when Di came with the morning tea at 7.00am, it was quite a shock. It was a while before I was really awake and then (getting showered, hair-washed, shaved and dressed one-handed as I had cut my finger yesterday) I was late to breakfast and was only just in time to see Debbie off to school. After the meal and doing my chores, I decided to go into St Neots with Diana and Della and we loaded up the car with more rubbish for the civic amenity tip before going to have coffee at The Old Falcon on the market square. This is a new place to have coffee but I think it is rather dingy and smoky and would not like to go again.

After getting a couple more videos on hire for Della, Di dropped me and Della off home and went back to do a lot more shopping. I was intending to use the bright and sunny start to the day to sweep up the leaves and mow the lawns, but I became tied down trying to return telephone calls and communicating with my party colleagues. I became a bit frustrated with Percy for not mastering the intricacies of Housing Finance as my representative on the Housing Committee which is a bit unfair as it is very complicated. With only half an hour to go before the normal lunch-time, I made a belated start to the gardening but had nearly cleared all of the leaves before the meal as Di was late back to make it anyway. I continued work this afternoon, looking up at a threatening sky, but it kept dry and I also managed to mow the important lawns before dusk.

This evening, I made numerous telephone calls and was kept very busy, but I stayed up a little late and typed up these last few days diary. I made plans to go to St Ives with Sally on Wednesday evening and liven up the Liberal Democrats there into making a go of the forthcoming local elections to try and get a District Councillor of their own.
