Then taking Della in her school uniform to the Prep end-of-term party
Then taking Della in her school uniform to the Prep end-of-term party

Another cold and frosty morning with -8degC temperatures again driving across the games lawn with Bill Medlock and delivering ballast for my landscaping. Then to get ready to go to Kimbolton Church with Diana and Della to the Prep Carol Service which was also and thanksgiving service to the life of Hugh Hunter and was a moving and emotional event. Then taking Della in her school uniform to the Prep end-of-term party and then installing the Hayling View Christmas lights and making more family and political calls.

We took a step nearer Christmas today with preparations and events of different kinds. But first I had to start the day with some outside exercise on another cold and frosty morning. In fact, I think that it was again the coldest night with temperatures down to minus 8degC! I had asked Bill to come in today and I got the Range Rover round, hooked up the trailer and then proceeded to go and fill up the trailer twice with ballast and drive it across the games lawn.  The lawn is frozen solid and would not be damaged very much.

This provided some good exercise for Bill and I in emptying the trailer between times. Then to get ready to go to Kimbolton Church with Diana and Della to the Prep Carol Service. This was also presented as a memorial and thanksgiving service to the life of Hugh Hunter and was a moving and emotional event. The congregation carols were interspersed with those from the choirs from all three sections of the prep; seven's, lowers and uppers and there were also recorder recitals. We managed to sit behind the seven's so that Della could be close to her classmates and we went back to the school afterwards to collect the remainder of the things that had been prepared for Della to do at home.

Arrangements were also agreed for Della to return in the afternoon for the Prep end-of-term party and, after a quick lunch and collect nurse Michelle, Diana took her back and she thoroughly enjoyed it. It was very good for her to wear her uniform for the first time since the accident and be with her school-friends and this will set her in good stead for her return in the new year. Whilst Della was at the prep this afternoon, and Di was at the supermarket, I was out on the balconies installing the Christmas Lights for The Hayling View and a very pretty sight it looked too! After tea, I then spent this evening clearing my office desks, reading council agenda and making a number of telephone calls to keep people in the picture. I also called Daniel and heard that he will be coming home at the end of the weekend. I received a copy of the Eaton Socon FOCUS and centre page for proof reading which had been laid out by John Roscoe and I was wondering about the other editions.
