Staying late at Hinchingbrooke Hospital with Della as she got tired and went through the session of involuntary body jerks before she relaxed into sleep

Diana and I taking turns for our vigil watching over Della recovering in hospital as I made a moving speech to open The Grand Bazaar and Jumble Sale in aid of the little Clive Peacock on my late Dad's Birthday.

Finally taking the last turn attending Della as she got tired and went through the session of involuntary body jerks as she relaxed into sleep. I had my break this afternoon, watching as England narrowly failed to beat Australia in a thrilling final to the Rugby World Cup.

I got up early and was soon ready to go to Hinchingbrooke, waking Daniel and Debbie with morning drinks. I left them to get Debbie ready for her journey to school and I left early to see Diana at the hospital. I relieved her there and looked after Della until Daniel and Angela arrived around 9.30am when I left for first home and then Little Paxton School where I was due to open the Scott Peacock Grand Bazaar and Jumble Sale. It was a very well supported event - the tables were full of goods to sell and there were queues of people waiting for the event to be opened.

We were delayed a little for Mr and Mrs Susan and Clive Peacock and then I made what proved to be a moving speech which actual reduced Mrs Peacock to tears! The preparations and intensive activity had been rather too much for her and she was touched by the help from Little Paxton when she had had to make the decision to leave the village to be near the special PACE therapy centre. The fete was a grand success and the press had come to record the happy event. Back to Hinchingbrooke to take Diana to the staff canteen for lunch and then a roster of us tending to Della for the rest of the day. All the time Della improves, and her medication is decreased as a bonus as well. She had more visitors and presents and is a real personality at the moment.

To give Diana rest, I had to insist this evening that she went to bed at 7.00pm and then let me see Della through to when she was fully asleep in her hospital bed. Della stayed up quite late watching her videos as I wrote up these last several days' journal. I coaxed Della through an anxious period when she started to get tired and through the session of involuntary body jerks as she relaxed into sleep. Once they were over she seemed to be very settled and I made my exit just after midnight. I had my break this afternoon, watching England narrowly fail to beat Australia in a thrilling final to the Rugby World Cup. England confounded the critics by playing the attacking and open rugby and it was Australia that were defending and playing the more negative game.
