I was tired again on a dry, breezy and cool day when Della was troublesome and caused problems when she was both on the way and on the way back from school.

I was treating greenfly in the conservatory and hoping it would not injure my koi carp and then after an interview with a radio station on our alternative budget proposals, I had a mammoth task to clear my desk after recent work.

The small island of Tahiti has had a military coup to end the first six months of democracy that it has ever managed.

I was tired again after far too many late nights but I was up early and down to the breakfast table with the others.  I then spent a little time in the conservatory looking after the plants and fish and got some systemic insecticide and gently squirted it onto my hydrangea which is covered in greenfly at the moment. I was careful to ventilate the conservatory thoroughly, but I just hoped that the fish will be all right. The compost heaps are getting well distributed around the beds and we were prepared for the leaves whenever they are ready to fall. I updated this last few days’ journal this morning and filed the month with the others.

Then I cleared up my desk entirely, which was a mammoth undertaking in view of the rubbish that accumulates. A lunch of salad after an interview with a radio station on our alternative budget proposals. Then more desk-work this afternoon and then I worked on updating my financial summaries this evening which was an overdue quarterly task. Della was troublesome today. First arguing with Debbie on the way to school and running back home and then getting into a barney with Di at bath-time and so the day began and ended all in tears. The Labour Party Conference was meeting this week and Neil Kinnock was scathing about the Tories flight from an early general election.
