Steven helped the builders forming the three king post trusses in position

Taking the family with Daniel to Pleasurewood Hills enjoying a range of shows and rides of which I enjoyed the sea-lion show the most. Whilst we were gone, Steven helped the builders forming the three king post trusses in position.

Once back, I applied wood stain to door and window frames and paid off the electrician before he left after finishing the electrical carcassing so that all the wires were laid ready for lining

Another very nice summer's day - warm and sunny but not too hot. I woke quite early, shaved, and dressed without disturbing Diana and then went out to open up the garage and shed before Steven joined me in taking off the cover to let the wood dry off. He was quiet and still grumpy about being organised yesterday but lightened up during the day to be his usual friendly self by the evening. They obviously worked hard today, forming just about all of three king post trusses whilst in position and now have some struts to fit. The principal rafters look very good and substantial, and I must now organise some steel straps to secure them. Steven helped in this process and finished off shredding the vegetation that was lying about. I applied a second coat of wood stain to both sides of the main upper window and can concentrate on the other two fire door frames tomorrow and then the windows themselves afterwards.

For most of the day I was looking after the family. Took a car full to Pleasurewood Hills with Daniel joining the rest of us for the trip. We stopped off at Potter Heigham on the way for morning coffee and then just about got through the holiday traffic to arrive at the theme park for an early lunch. A range of shows and rides of which I enjoyed the sea-lion show the most. We got back to Heronshaw before tea which enabled me to pay off the electrician before he left after finishing the electrical carcassing so that all the wires were laid ready for lining. This evening, I took Diana for a walk to The Swan where we had a nice dinner of a half roast chicken each in the bar before viewing the waterfront and Lower Street shops.
