A gloriously sunny day for both Debbie's Sports Day and Little Paxton School Fete when I met up with Nigel who was adding a huge garage and snooker room to Hail Weston House. I held a BBQ afterwards and invited Amy and her mum, Pat Law, to join the family with. Angela, Gary and Daniel.I also phoned Mum on her birthday.

Another glorious sunny day today which was fortunate for both the Kimbolton School Sports Day and Little Paxton School Fete. We were slow to rise and get ready and then let Debbie get off to school on her bus when we realised that the events started quite early. The chores hastily done and then all off to Kimbolton where we were in good time to see Debbie run in her 100m race. Even though she did come last, it was brave of her to volunteer and try.

The rest of the morning spent driving to and fro between Kimbolton and here - first taking Daniel to the opticians and then joining him for an eye test appointment later in the morning when I ordered a pair of half-glasses to replace those that I lost and these to a slightly stronger prescription. I found the full glasses an inconvenience to wear as, whilst I could see my reading material more clearly, the rest of the room was blurred until they were removed. I had called Nigel and let him know when Ashley was running from the programme and then met him there this morning. He was also in the middle of building work by adding a huge garage and snooker room to Hail Weston House.

We all went to the Paxton School Fete for lunch and then round the stalls in the afternoon. It was still very hot and so I organised a barbecue afterwards and invited Amy and her mum, Pat Law, to join the family for this. Angela, Gary and Daniel were also there and I bought six huge burghers, ten large sausages and ten more chicken pieces and all were eaten up so that they must have enjoyed the way I cooked them. Late this evening, clearing up the mess and watering the flower baskets and then to write up this last couple of days journal. I also managed to remember to phone Mum on her birthday today and bought a duplicate book which will be used for my Heronshaw boat-shed orders.
