A Little Paxton Planning Committee meeting before another of the Parish Council which achieved a formula for liaising with the Village Hall Committee

Stiff and tired this morning after yesterday’s hectic schedule, watching some sport on television and welcoming the Kimbolton School news on my bust stop proposals. After a further call from the structural surveyors, I arranged a return visit for Friday and then set off for a Little Paxton Planning Committee meeting before another of the Parish Council which achieved a formula for liaising with the Village Hall Committee.

I was quite stiff and tired this morning and was hoping to relax and watch some World Cup cricket on television. However, Della was camped down and watching "The Gnomes" on the children’s channel and so I repaired to get washed and dressed instead. Late to breakfast, therefore, but saw the girls out of the door before they went. We had a letter from Kimbolton School today, confirming that the Little Paxton school bus arrangements were now to be adopted permanently after the trial period which was welcome news. I then went and watched the rest of the Australia vs England TV cricket match which was settled in favour of England by a large margin which means that Australia is just about set to go out of this World Cup before the quarter finals which is a great shock to them.

After the recent anti-monarchy comments by the Australian Prime Minister, one banner read "The Empire Strikes Back"! Then to some hasty measures, a phone call to Mixer & Co which resulted in the plan to go back to Horning on Friday and then a quick trip out to return the hire equipment to Cosy Corner and get some cash out of the building society. Home to lunch of prawn salad and then to my desk to catch up on some paperwork and do what planning I could for Heronshaw. I sketched some samples of roof trusses that I felt were practicable for my application and then also did a sample layout of the piling plan that Mr Amis will need to get under-way next week. Steven called in for the information later and will be preparing a proper over-site plan that we can use.

I then got ready later for the Parish Council meeting and just about got there in time for the preliminary Planning Committee. There were quite a few applications, but most were uncontroversial until we came to one in Park Avenue which sought to create a new road access opposite the junction with Park Crescent. I wanted this deferred whilst we had a look at it, but the committee approved it anyway. The following full council meeting went on a long time but covered some common ground with the village hall management and so will help future communication between the two bodies. Michael Pope did not turn up. Home rather late and tired but still managed some important preparations against tomorrow.
