Booking into The Harnser Suite of The Swan Inn as Diana arrived later time with the girls

Off to Norfolk via Norwich on a very cold day for some shopping and supplies and then seeing how much progress had been made at Heronshaw before booking into The Harnser Suite of The Swan Inn as Diana arrived later time with the girls.

Despite being tired from this last few days late nights and energetic sessions. I managed to get up and on my way to Norfolk quite early, missing the morning rush as far as the Saturday shoppers was concerned. I dropped into Norwich first to get some groceries at Sainsbury's and then walk to Jarrolds to get some books on building technology that I will need to finish the planning of my building work. On to Wroxham where I went into Jeckells and saw about the new carpets for the boat and helmsman's seat. 'Adrian' had telephoned me on my car phone at long last and they had produced a price of £400 for the carpets and still had the matching seats that I could also buy.

Then my last call to Jewsons to ask about light roofing tiles for Heronshaw and they will try to find out some information for me. It was therefore already getting on for lunchtime by the time I arrived at Heronshaw. I had heard from Steven that he had got on well and cleared the rubbish tip in the corner, but this still had not prepared me for the radical change I saw on arrival. I also saw that Amis had been getting on with the foundation piling but that his motor had broken down and he duly came along this afternoon with a mechanic and took it away to fix. I used the quiet day to survey the piling machine and take measurements of its size and shape so that I could figure out a way of under-pining Heronshaw from the inside as Mr Howlett had suggested.

It was a very cold day and I managed to get very chilled standing around and had just about ground to a halt when Diana arrived with the girls in late afternoon. We left my car at Heronshaw, locked up, and checked into The Swan where our main room was the 'Harnser Suite' with another smaller one next door. I relaxed and tried to read my new books as the girls jostled for room and space before they were bathed and put to bed. I then took Diana down to the restaurant and we had a very nice meal; tending to drink rather too much wine in the process! Then to bed and soon fast asleep.
