Visiting the "Tower Hill Pageant"
Visiting the "Tower Hill Pageant"

Home from London after disturbing incidents after visiting the "Tower Hill Pageant" and enjoying a meal in McDonalds before I set off to Norfolk to complete the bathroom skirting board in Harnser and then install the fan heater as the clocks go back.

The rain continued and the wind was getting steadily stronger as I sat up and typed up today's journal.

A very poor night as we found that, not only did the London traffic continue noisily until the early hours of the morning, but a couple of merry females came to our floor at 3.00am and were all drunken giggles in the hall which I found most distracting; as much for the opportunity going begging as for the disturbance caused! I lay in until what I thought was 8.00am to try to make up for my lost sleep but soon found out that the clocks had gone back and that we had a further hour. A nice breakfast in the hotel restaurant and then we packed up, checked out and then got the porter's help to load up before setting off. We went across London to Tower Hill and then visited the "Tower Hill Pageant" and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the latest attraction, which is an underground ride, featuring the historical development of London since Roman times. It was fascinating to see how the northern bank of the River Thames was extended south by successive revetments with a back-fill of rubbish as contemporary artifacts of the times.

A meal in McDonalds and then, it starting to rain hard, we decided to head back home. Well on our way before Debbie upsets Diana and I by discovering that she had left her new glasses behind but at least we were able to track them down by use of our car telephone and formulate a strategy to recover them. Home soon after lunch and a little time catching up on mail before I took time out to repair the conservatory de-humidifier which was rattling annoyingly. As I was going to be very tired, I decided to travel back to Norfolk earlier rather than later and so packed up quickly and completed the drive to Horning in daylight. Some action needed to warm up cold buildings and set things out against the work plan for tomorrow. I did manage a couple of hours work and managed to complete the bathroom skirting board and then install the fan heater. The weather continued unsettled, the rain continuing and then the wind getting steadily stronger as I sat up and typed up today's journal.
