Chancellor of the Exchequer Norman Lamont has gone

A day of office work on my late parents’ estate and a visitor from Mann Egerton who would sell me a new Range Rover and take the old one and Rolls Royce in part exchange.

Another full day at my desk, interspersed with sessions walking the dog in the rain as it was a day of dampness and drizzle. In the last couple of days, I have managed to accompany the girls to the school bus stop with Sam and they have appreciated this. My work consisted first of completing the present round of letters and claims for my late Mum's estate. I ended up writing to Freda with the new address list, copies of my letters and sending the entire batch of cards and letters we had received from well-wishers in case Freda wanted to take the process further. Off to St Neots to post all these letters and to make more withdrawals from my executors account to settle estate bills.

Another visit this afternoon; this time from the Norwich Mann Egerton representative who came to look at both cars and particularly the Rolls Royce. Like yesterday's visitor, he was pleasantly surprised to see its condition and would like to consider a deal for me to trade in both vehicles and end up with a new Range Rover. Worked on into the evening and then went to find the family watching a film in the lounge before bed. Chancellor of the Exchequer Norman Lamont has gone and with it a new government cabinet re-shuffle has taken place, but it will not save their reputations which are at an all-time low with the electorate.
