After learning of the closure of Offord Riding School, I speak firstly to owner Fiona about buying her pony Sundance and then to Lisa Drake’s family about sharing its care. The St Neots Beefeater had arranged a non-smoking area for our lunch after my intervention
Yesterday, I had taken Debbie to horse riding lesson at Offord and spoke to Fiona, the owner, about her decision to close it down. She suggested buying a horse and using the facilities there as a livery and recommended that Sundance, an 11-year-old gelding, was a suitable mount for Deborah. I asked about a second rider, perhaps without money, who could share in the use and care of Sundance if we decided to buy him. Later, I spoke to the family of Lisa Drake, who lives in Little Paxton and regularly rides the pony. We asked them to think about the commitment and they called me back later today and said they wanted to help anyway. We had a nice lunch at the Bridge Beefeater today, they had arranged a non-smoking area and very good service after had made my recent representation.
