On a poor cloudy and overcast day, some progress at Harnser forming Sam’s new compound and then taking the family for the river trip to Horning Tea Shoppe and then on this evening to see "Dennis The Menace" at the Cromer Regal
The weather forecast was not promising, and the day was cloudy and even overcast for some of the time, but the rain stayed away and we had an acceptable day. At Harnser for most of it, settling down to finish a section of the new dog fence and digging in the support post for the large gate between the shed and garage; now to be the sole access for cars. I was hoping to achieve a lot more but the post foundation, in particular, was a difficult job to do.

The journey back to Norfolk, firstly delayed by the girls’ packing problems and then by roadworks around St Neots; missing Norwich rendezvous with Diana so we met up at Harnser.
I then took all of them over to the village by The Jolly and we had afternoon tea at The Olde Tea Shoppe and then Della joined me to walk Sam around the marsh roads.
The LibDems had thrashed the Tories in the Christchurch by-election. In the 15th safest Tory-held seat, a majority of over 20,000 had been overturned and deficit of 18,000 put in its place with a 35% swing; the largest ever reversal recorded since the war
After the rain and drizzle of yesterday, today was fine and warm and got sunnier as the day wore on. Even so, rain was forecast for overnight and this would be in character with a season that has been wet throughout so far. A walk and feed for Sam and I was pleased that he had not been whining now back at Paxton. Then to get myself and the girls ready for the journey.

An eventful journey home to Paxton on a damp day with the girls, leaving Diana at Horning and helping a young mother with her young baby to get to Bedford.
Joining Daniel and friends and then looking at investment properties in the Eaton’s as the time and price was now right.
Finding our garden produce, tomatoes, runner beans and particularly Victorian plumbs plentiful.
I had become quite concerned about how things were in Paxton and had a discussion with Diana about what we were doing and whether to make an overnight visit. Once it had become evident that I could make the trip, first Della and then Debbie wanted to join me and so we all got ready to go; leaving Diana to stay at Harnser on her own! She was quite happy with this as it gave her some time on her own and ended her "guest status".

Day trip to Great Yarmouth in cloudy and showery weather, becoming warm and sunny later, taking Sam along to the Pleasurebeach where the girls had all-day wristbands.
Israel attracted direct criticism from the United States for the first time as it continued its bombardment of Southern Lebanon
The day was forecast to be cloudy and showery, but it became warm and sunny later on. We decided to have a day trip to Great Yarmouth and, because the girls had chosen Pleasurebeach, we took along Sam. He had already had a good run first thing and then, once we arrived and bought the girls all-day wristbands, we took him along the seafront to the harbour entrance. We had hoped to see a few ships entering and leaving harbour but, though they came before and afterwards, there were none whilst we were watching!
