The scramble to get ready and packed to drive from Paxton to Horning with Steven. There to work on the boat and finally commission the Navstar 2000D and Yeoman to work with the new interface.
We saw Daniel and Gary today and had lunch with them after going by boat to The New Inn.
Then a cruise down the River Bure, up the River Ant and eventually moored up at Ludham Bridge
An early call again and then I set off with the dog before breakfast. A hectic session packing and loading up the car as Steven arrived, dropped off by his son Daniel who works at Eaton Socon. With Sam aboard we then off to Norfolk, stopping for a tea break on the way. We bought some supplies from Wroxham and then drove on to Horning to start work on The Paxton Princess. I had trouble all morning and most of the afternoon with the installation of the 2000i interface until I found that I had made a mis-connection and then not set up the Navstar 2000D and Yeoman to work with the new interface.

Successfully getting my Reliant passed its MOT, a family trip to the dentist and then home for Diana to host a tea-party for Chrisula and her three daughters.
Off this evening to see Nigel at Hail Weston House for drinks and snooker. The news was dominated by the personal House of Commons statement by Michael Mates
Another early call and then out with Sam before breakfast. Accompanied the girls to the bus stop and then got down to working on Percy, adjusting the brakes and checking all systems prior to taking it for the MOT test. Had to wake up Daniel to both move his car and then help me by driving behind me as I started Percy and moved off onto the open road and towards Elsworth. The car was passed without too much fuss (or scrutiny to be honest) and I just had to work the lights to satisfy tester Bob as he was sympathetic to old vehicles.

Completing my Reliant service with Daniel’s help and then clearing away the debris in time for the arrival of the Brownies at The Hayling View as Daniel and Jason played tennis on the games lawn.
Michael Heseltine looks very ill after his heart attack and Early promise of good play from British tennis players at Wimbledon has fizzled out.
I arranged for an early call as I had lots to do and wanted to avoid doing them in the heat of the day if I could possibly help it. It worked and I had fed Sam and taken him for a run before eating breakfast with the girls. Some time in my office, making telephone calls to arrange for my MOT tomorrow, ask for advice on the Harnser problem (which I managed) and to try to get an eye test appointment (which I could not). I had put some old clothes on for my day's endeavour and was soon under the old Reliant, greasing all of the points with my high pressure and flexible grease guns. I had extracted Daniel from the lounge and got him to read the items from my service checklist as I was hopelessly messy by this time and could not do both.

Organising the renaissance of my Reliant, training Sam on water retrieves and enjoying a family day. The weather was very warm and both girls had friends round to go swimming in the pool
Diana and I were reluctant to get up this morning and, with Sam being content to stay in his kennel without making a fuss, we just laid in and together for the first time for a while. A long walk with Sam before breakfast, setting a few challenges for him with water retrieves until I went too far and lost the dummy too far out in the river! I made up for it later in the day, re-building his confidence in the gravel pits and then spending a long time with him "fielding" tennis balls on the game’s lawns.
