On nicer day today with less rain and more sunny spell, Di took Debbie off to Kimbolton for the start of her day trip to France, I set off for Bedford in the Range Rover to get the rest of its service done but they had ordered the wrong part and could not complete the work. Then the swimming pool and some time running up both the Reliant and Rolls Royce. Thatcher spoke on Europe in the House of Commons today and the event was a bit like a voice from the grave. The stock market is falling again.
It was a bit of a frustrating day today as I stayed at home for most of it and tried to get some work done. Diana was up early and took Debbie off to Kimbolton for the start of her day trip to France. This had all happened before I was awake and then I just had breakfast with Diana and Della as the only two left. Having finished breakfast, I set off for Bedford in the Range Rover to get the rest of its service done. I dropped off the car at Marshalls and queried an item from last time to keep them on their toes. Then a salesman gave me a lift back and I settled down to some work. The swimming pool was the first chore and then I spent much of the day on correspondence and deskwork. I went out to deliver some letters, and get some money and stationery at one point, but that was about all.

The bad news from the garage was that they had secured the wrong type of steering box and so could not have my Range Rover ready for tonight which was a bit upsetting as I needed a whole lot of tools and other bits from the boot to get on with my work. This evening, I ran up the Reliant again and found that just about all of the systems were working satisfactorily. The dynamo is not charging the battery satisfactorily but I know from before that there is some secret combination of switches that enables this to happen and I will have to discover which it is. Both the Reliant and Rolls Royce batteries on charge overnight as I hope to get the latter in for its annual service tomorrow. A nicer day today with less rain and more sunny spells. The forecast for my boat trip on Saturday is very encouraging. Thatcher spoke on Europe in the House of Commons today and the event was a bit like a voice from the grave. The stock market is falling again.
