Paving the new boatshed area on another warm and sunny day, after taking delivery of the first paving stones, more sand, mesh and some ducting and then prospecting Horning Quay for the loading process.
Up 'till late having a well-earned bath, washing my hair and updating my journal and my back and limbs really ached with all the work today so that I will surely be stiff as a board tomorrow
I was up late bathing and updating my journal last night and so, when I woke up at 5.00am this morning, I decided that I would turn over and get another hour's sleep. Time to phone home and speak to the girls and then out to start working around 8.00am and soon the delivery transit pick-up arrived from Jewsons with the first load of paving stones. A back-breaking time helping the driver to unload them after which I followed him back to the yard to get some more materials. Another ton of sand, some mesh to keep the rodents out from under the staging, 14 yards of alkethene pipe with insulation and ducting completed the load. The trailer was creaking as I made my way back the short distance from Wroxham to Horning but it still held up despite not yet being renovated.

It took me the rest of the afternoon to install the vermin mesh so that I could start laying the paving stones against it and then I was working through the evening laying the paving slabs on the latest load of sand. As darkness fell, I cleared up and then drove over to Horning Quay to see where we could get in next Monday. As the mooring rules are for 24hrs only, one way would be to move the Paxton Princess over to reserve the mooring the day before. Up 'till late having a well-earned bath, washing my hair and updating my journal and my back and limbs really ached with all the work today so that I will surely be stiff as a board tomorrow. Another warm and sunny day so that I had to be careful not to get too hot.
