A pleasant surprise from Debbie of breakfast in bed for Diana's 45th Birthday and then a quiet and relaxing day, just hosting lunch at to The Bridge Hotel in St Neots and lighting the fire in the lounge and resting and reading in front of it.
A session with Debbie showing her how to do word processing on my computer as Diana went to a Brownies Swimming Gala in St Neots.
It was a very pleasant surprise to have a lay in this morning and then to be served a cup of coffee. Debbie had brought up Diana's breakfast as a treat on her birthday and so I was given the same privilege too. She had set her alarm and got herself up, dressed and hair done to save Diana the trouble for once. A nice time in bed with Diana despite her time of the month and then up slowly having achieved nothing by the time we had a morning coffee together. Then a few chores; the doves and fish to be fed, the pool filter to back-flush and little time for anything else before we had to go into St Neots. Three little boys from the neighbourhood were down on our riverside garden by permission prospecting the river for the best place to fish tomorrow and I chatted to them for a while.

Then, with Della for company, off to St Neots to get a tyre specialist to look at my punctured tyre. Upon close inspection, it transpired that there was a tear or slit in the tread where it seems that I had run over a spike and so I was to need a new tyre that could only be obtained for Monday. Collected Diana and Debbie and took everyone to The Bridge Hotel in St Neots for a nice lunch, after which I could do little for the rest of the day but light the fire in the lounge and rest and read in front of it. Diana had to go to a Brownies Swimming Gala in St Neots this evening, but Debbie was at home and I showed her how to use my computer to type up, check and edit letters for replies to her "Pan-Pals". It was bright but very cold again today and we look forward to a break in this cold weather.
