A pouring wet and cold day to walk Sam twice and get over to St Neots for a haircut. Also to Nigel’s to collect his colour printer on loan for a while and then to the Brownies’ Carol Service at St James Church. Late to my journal, my work and to bed
A wet and cold day that brought home the fact that we were on the eve of the year's shortest day. Most of my time in my office struggling with all sorts of arrangements before attending Della's Brownie church carol service with Diana and, in between, taking Sam for his two walks. It was time with Sam that brought home the shortness of the day; I was back home around 10.00am after walking him and then out again before 3.00pm for the same thing.

We both got wet in the pouring rain both times and I gave him some waterwork this morning and had him swimming quite well in the gravel pits on one occasion. I feel that I am making actual progress and can get him back online in time for his next training session. Amongst the arrangements I was making was my unsuccessful attempt to get Daniel's new but faulty motherboard exchanged but a more productive effort to order a memorial for my late mother. I thought of my parents today and got their photographs out but must still get up to the cemetery to put out their wreaths when the weather improves.
I sent Christmas cards to my Ropes Hill Dyke neighbours for the first time. Over to St Neots for a haircut and then on to Nigel to collect his colour printer on loan for a while. Despite his protestations that he would be there, he was missing of course, but his son and my Godson, Ashley, helped me. Daniel seemed tired and quiet today but then he has had a number of late nights and the disappointment of finding his motherboard faulty. Marilyn McGinness came round today to collect my late dad's Escort on loan today. Nobody is presently using it and this means that her old lady clients can now have their hair-dressing done before Christmas.
Out in the cold and wet for the third time today to show support for Della, Peter and the village for the Brownie and Guides carol service at St James Church. No choir and few parents but the church full of little girls attending more for the following party than the carols! A modern version of "Scrooge" on TV tonight which I watched with Diana. Late to my journal, my work and to bed but pleased that I was progressing various matters.
