A mixed month of weather and perpetual tiredness satisfying a wife and mistress during a hot affair, coping with three kids and training a demanding gun dog, whilst chasing sister Freda and Alf about my loan, them being a hopeless couple.
I also managed a constant cycle of paying staff in cash, bill paying, returning calls and checking mail. Also keeping in touch with my friend Nigel in his time of greatest need and personal problems.
My planned rebuilding of Heronshaw was delayed when a demolition cost of £3,000 was estimated but at least we kept the place tidy between outings and boat trips. I managed to organise two long boat trips all over The Broads and then completed some renovations aboard.
Between these nautical activities, we did our normal round of pleasurable things with something for everyone: Wroxham Library, Wroxham Barns lunches, snacks at Hoveton Riverside Cafe and The Horning Tea Shoppe and Mr Chann's atmospheric dinner routine for example (!) but also novel trips such as one to see Sam Weller's Reepham Museum.
Whilst in Norwich I get back to watching Norwich City win their first match of the season. Still time during the month to see Di's parents in Cambridge and to get Della her new shoes and Debbie more things for her French Trip. Daniel has friends and attractive blondes to stay after a river drinking party.
During my trips to Norfolk, I also manage two serious rabbit lamping with Jim at Wymondham, and we get quite a good method going between us during a busy month of dog training.
The highlight of the month though is the development of my relationship with Wiggly and our first proper date was at The Bridge at Clayhithe with her in her black mini-dress as we both prepared in nervous expectation.
I was then aroused by her affectionate manner after which we had a great evening and a very passionate night at her flat until I learned of her heath setback, which was a blow.
Another great time after her wisdom tooth operation, collecting her from the station and treating her to tea on the Hotel Wroxham balcony before showing her over Harnser, Heronshaw and the Paxton Princess for the first time.
The main month's news of importance to us is the fire at Norwich City Library - which was gutted as was Della and Debbie at the loss of a favourite place to go when we are in Norwich.
The signalmen's Rail Strike deepens with the occurrence of two-day strikes for the first time. The month starts with IRA bombings and fears for the forthcoming party conferences then on last day of the month they announce their cease-fire to commence at midnight.
The Princess of Wales is accused of making harassing phone calls to a married man after an affair. More scandal as an English athlete is tested positive for drugs then two women athletes are also found out, threatening the women's team's entry into the World Championships at Crystal Palace next month.

A mixed month of weather; starting dull, humid and close, with pleasant sunshine in middle of the month but then a later a downpour traps us when taking the girls to Lowestoft! Once this rain came, it kept returning as showers coming and going until persistent rain set in for my Norfolk dog training.
There was a very strong and cool easterly wind later in the month by the sea and then a return to cloudy and sunny spells, feeling alternately chilly and hot for our seaside visit. It was fine and warm, however, for both the start and end of our boat trip and for my football match.
Norwich had their first victory of the season, but it rained again when we got the boat underway. It ended with a sunny day and full gale as we came home in the boat from our week's voyage.
For my part, I had a cold in mid-month and then perpetual tiredness coping with the range of my personal commitments. Caring for two principal properties and satisfying both a wife and mistress, three kids and training a demanding gun dog is just too much for anyone to do satisfactorily but it can be fun and keeps you physically-fit!
I managed a meeting with Freda and Alf about my loan but still find them to be a hopeless couple and a vexation to my spirit. I was in Norfolk for much of the month but, when home in Cambridgeshire, there was a constant cycle of paying staff in cash, bill paying, returning calls and checking mail.
I kept in touch with my friend Nigel in his time of greatest need and personal problems; having lunch with him at the Eaton Oak and coffee at Hail Weston House talking over his financial and other problems and solutions.
His mistress, Kate Geeves became pregnant, and they already had her abortion arranged but I was too late to talk them out of it. Nigel was present for the event but their relationship could not take the strain and it ends and he is very cut up about it. Still Lynn plans to move out into her new house in Grafham, but at least he manages to borrow the money he needs to buy it without my help.
Whilst at Heronshaw, I organised a meeting with Sonny Amis to review the fate of the old building but action was delayed when a cost of £3,000 for demolition alone was estimated. With Diana, I mowed and strimmed the lawns and edges around it and so at least we keep the place tidy between outings and boat trips.
Our first of two full boat trips was to Burgh Castle then via Reedham with a trip to Pettit’s on foot with Sam. At Beccles, we took The Jolley to Church Walk in the town centre to save climbing the hill on foot but then made up for it with a walk across the Beccles Marshes with Sam again.
On to Oulton Broad, where we were rafted out at a busy yacht station where our distractions were power boat racing for me, the Nicholas Everett Park for the girls who enjoyed trampolining, putting, playing; and a walk to Lowestoft with Diana but she really enjoyed The Wherry Carvery dinner most.
On our second trip of the month (with Debbie in France) we invited Della's friend, Michelle Brown, and they both settled straight down into the boat and loved it, even though we stayed at the moorings for two days with us sleeping in Harnser.
This voyage included a New Inn lunch and then night at Ranworth Staithe for a historic Wherry meet. Then lunch and a tower view at Ranworth Church and tea rooms, before dinner at the Ranworth pub as Morris Dancers performed between rain spells.
Bacon butties for breakfast the next day and then fishing with the girls who also enjoyed playing on the Stokesby village green play equipment as I bought a fine seafood tea.
Next a stay at the defunct Yarmouth Marina site before on via Brundall to Norwich for a "conker and dog" walk through the Cow Tower park. There our first meal at The Floating Restaurant before Michelle was collected and we meet her father and grandfather.
Whilst in Norwich I get back to watching Norwich City as Carrow Road was within walking distance of the Yacht Station. Back with a Surlingham Ferry Inn celebrity appearance and on home finally via Yarmouth.
To ensure that Paxton Princess was ready for these demands, I modified the water reservoir and alarm battery connections and serviced the mechanics before we set off. For once, we pumped out the toilet tanks before and after our boat trip.
The drive into Norwich for our entertainment where we saw "Babies Night Out" and ate at McDonalds. Then to Cromer to see "Getting Father" and then several trips to Great Yarmouth for Pleasurebeach, a viewing of the visiting replica of Drake's Flagship, The Golden Hind and some mad youngsters in a 17ft yacht also entertaining us with the need for their lifeboat rescue in a brisk NE wind.
The family also went to The Bygone Village and Winterton and then Helska to get the girls' hair trimmed. Whilst back at home, Diana was preoccupied first with preparations and shopping for Debbie's trip to Saumer, near Angiers.
After taking her to the castle and seeing her off, Della mourns the loss of her resident playmate and so we arrange to take Michelle Brown back to Norfolk for a week.
Still time during the month to see Di's parents in Cambridge and to get Della her new shoes and Debbie more things for her French Trip. I host a large party for a Bridge Hotel lunch as Di's parents also come over to get Daniel to fix their car radio.
We visit the Peterborough cinema to see "Sirens", stopping to be the good Samaritan to an old lady lost on the ring road on the way back. To Bedford cinema to see "True Lies" and dropped in with present and card for Ross McKay's engagement party.
A good month therefore for Diana until her car breaks down with a blocked carburettor jet after being serviced and we have to complain and get it fixed. Daniel has friends and attractive blondes to stay after a river drinking party.
During my trips to Norfolk, I also manage two serious rabbit lamping with Jim at Wymondham and we get quite a good method going between us. Sam coped with all this activity very well and his presence did not really stop us enjoying a full range of pursuits, even though he was ignored and rather deserted at times.
Whilst with the family, he slept and settled well in car, boat and kennel. He was on his best behaviour at Pettits of Reedham and whilst staked out amongst mowing and strimming at Burgh St Peter.
He hated the walk from Oulton Broad to Lowestoft and it had to be abandoned in the pouring rain with us in the cafe and him trying to shelter underneath tables, but he was good at the open-air Tombland restaurant and better generally with people, with our stop at Surlingham a revelation to the spectators in the pub garden in view of his obedience.
In his practical training, he began the month by quartering a harvested pea stubble field satisfactorily and stopping on a hare. Jim came to stay in Paxton with Ben for the Harlow training session and we travelled together to the Derbyshire Grouse Pointing afterwards but both dogs disgraced themselves chasing sheep at East Moor and Ben actually caught one sheep and brought it down!
Sam's obedience was markedly better upon his return to Norfolk where we also practised quartering in Sugar Beet with Ben and Jim and he pointed three pheasants but could not hold them.
Better control after then in the pea stubble and more training with Jim and Ben running through sugar beet without finding game and then steadying the dogs on a field of sheep owned by a friendly farmer.
Back home quartering satisfactorily on a stubble field and more practice with Jim hunting for and then pointing pheasants in the sugar beet, retrieving a shot pigeon for good measure. Jim then came with Ben once more to stay overnight but they did not settle very well.
Off to the Loch Beck Cleveland Grouse Pointing Test where Sam is graded "Good" on grouse. Back to earth in Horning, bumping pheasants and chasing a deer and bumping another cock pheasant when in Ranworth on the boat but it was all part of the learning process.
Good obedience and then points in stubble fields on his return to Cambridgeshire but he still struggles to hold game on point at this stage of his training.
The highlight of the month though is the development of my relationship with Wiggly - The month starts as she meets Michael and gives him bad news of not accepting him for a tenancy over a drink. We are both buoyed up by the coverage of her election success in newspaper.
Our first proper date is at The Bridge at Clayhithe with her in her black mini-dress and braving her toothache. We both prepare in nervous expectation and I am then aroused by her affectionate manner; before we have a great evening and a very passionate night at her flat.

A great time with Wiggly for the weekend of 13th/14th after her wisdom tooth operation, collecting her from the station and treating her to tea on the Hotel Wroxham balcony before showing her over Harnser, Heronshaw and the Paxton Princess for the first time. Norwich and the Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant then Arnold Swartsenegar's latest film, "True Lies" which I had to see later with Diana as well.
A romantic walk along banks of the River Cam for tea and ice cream as she wept, depressed at the range of problems she has. We rendezvous briefly on the A11 when I go to Norfolk on pleasure and she comes back from a business trip there. Her Unilever work sports event had her with hair in bunches and wearing a blouse and a St Trinians Style short skirt which made her hot for later.

I was away whilst she moved into her first house at 3 Montague Street, Eynesbury and she was a bit down when I could not be there or call her for a two day spell. I made up for it with flowers and a gift when I got back and stayed overnight for the first time in her new house in a very energetic session. At least I succeed as an effective handyman in a session fitting curtains and fixing things.
