Opening presents on Christmas morning
Opening presents on Christmas morning

Christmas Day with Diana and the family opening a huge selection of presents between bracing walks with Sam.

The girls got to enjoy their new bikes last and were thrilled.

It was a surprise to see all the frost and ice melted this morning as milder weather and drizzle had arrived overnight.

After staying up after midnight last night to help Diana put the children’s presents out, we were still not able to have a lay in as they were very keen to be opening their presents as early as possible.

Debbie got to me before Diana, and I had to wake up at 7.00am without a cup of morning tea and that left me somewhat in a daze as they all started the celebratory opening.

Daniel was up as well and all three were very happy with their pillow-case full of gifts; for Di had been busy all year buying them as usual.

We gave them their new mountain bikes last as the final climax. Then some cereal breakfast and out with Sam for his morning walk because he does not recognise these festivals.

Not many other dog-owners were out at 9.30am on Christmas Morning so that we had the field mainly to ourselves. I got Sam to do some waterwork and then used his new doggy-towel present to dry him off with afterwards.

Later in the morning, I opened the rest of my own presents and then Diana finished preparing the most enormous lunch and I ate far too much of it.

Another walk for Sam before I settled down for the rest of the day eating and watching the television far too much.
