To finally stop at Bramerton Woods End tavern

After a quiet and restful night at the  Berney Arms and walk around the village to shop for groceries and so had a pint at The Red House pub.

The the cuise up to Brundall and on to finally stop at Bramerton Woods End. A fast cruise on the RIB and dinner in the pub before bed.

A quiet and restful night with the water lapping high during the spring tide.

We were woken quite early by the rush of people cruising off across Breydon Water to get under the Bure bridges and then the next rush of those coming back the other way.

We could lay in a while and, with the air fresher than of late, Sam could stay in his box comfortably so that we did not have to get up quite so early.

Even so, we showered and got out with him before breakfast and walked along the banks of Breydon Water, across the dyke and behind the Berney Arms so as to go past it and back to the river by the RSPB base upstream.

Sam enjoyed all this and sat quietly whilst we tried to shop in the small place by the pub but a right apology for a shop it was; having no range of papers nor fresh milk so as to be even worse than Redgrave!

We soon pushed off and cruised on up the River Yare until stopping off at Cantley. There we walked to their village shop which was a well-run "Mace".

The only problem was the pack of noisy dogs in their back garden that barked at Sam consistently, even though he sat quietly and did not get involved. We bought all of the things that we wanted and then had a pint each at The Red House pub

. I had thought to have lunch here but Wiggly preferred to make us nice smoked salmon salad sandwiches back on the boat and we enjoyed them before setting off.

The cruise up to Brundall where the shop staff pestered  for our ropes as usual but we kept the bow rope and moored in the side dyke to get water and a few things in the shop.

Wiggly was fascinated by the Broom works and marina full of large boats but, having got the list, seen the prices and some of them on the water, we felt that The Paxton Princess was fine for us and that some of the 40ft boats would be too big to handle and own.

Onwards, finally stopping at Bramerton Woods End where we first walked Sam through the woods and back to the pub for a drink and then took the RIB for a fast cruise up the water-skiing stretch of the Yare.

Back to the boat to relax a while and update my journal and then, after putting all of the covers back up and the dog to bed, we returned to have dinner in the pub to finish off a very pleasant day.

England duly drew the fifth test match against the West Indies today so, with the series still level at 2-2, everything now depends upon the sixth and final test.

Still fine and sunny today, with more of the same forecast, but more pleasant with a breeze and lower humidity.
