Our last day enjoying the Edinburgh Fringe and overcoming Wiggly’s ‘shoe trantrum’ to see "Like a Virgin" which was so sad it made me cry.
Then ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ at Southside and a boozy end to the visit at The Advocate pub.
Checked in with the family and spoke to Debbie who told me all about her night out clubbing in Cambridge and seems very happy at the moment to have discovered the other sex.
To bed very tired after the day's exertions.
The weather statisticians have told us that the month of August was the warmest and sunniest one ever, even if only the third driest, but the summer remains the driest ever.
I had a much better morning, getting up earlier and updating my journal, logging into CIX and then shagging Wiggly quickly for my own pleasure so that we were away by 11.00am for the start of our last fringe day.

We went to the Assembly Rooms venue by bus and there relaxed with a sticky bun and mug of coffee before buying tickets for "Like a Virgin". Wondering what to do in the meantime, we first saw Holy Ground, at my suggestion.
This was a one woman play, done very well, but quite hard work to watch for the hour. It was about one woman's release from a dull marriage after the death of a domineering husband.
We then wandered off for cup of tea before shopping. Wiggly became very upset at failing to find right size shoes in Saxones and this became something of a tantrum.
I took us across to get an ice cream in garden, whilst Wiggly did some more shopping and then I tried the Saxone branch in Norwich for those shoes without success.
With me still tussling with the job of finding these shoes, we walked across to the start of the "Virgin" show. I was a bit sad watching the show and cried many times, struggling to avoid anybody seeing the state I was in.
It was about a wife and young daughter being left by the father as the marriage was not working out and then the daughter ending up dying of cancer. I rested in the gardens again somewhat stunned and sad after watching this whilst Wiggly carried on shopping.
I tried to call the girls for reassurance but only Debbie was in. She told me all about her night out clubbing in Cambridge and seems very happy at the moment to have discovered the other sex.
I was glad to speak to her but Della was out with her Mum having a shoulder massage which I thought a little strange. The next show was the Little Shop of Horrors at Southside with the story of the ever-growing man-eating plant and nice music.
Wiggly bought us some strong beer in the interval and then, once it was over, we had an Indian meal after much walking and thus, quite merry on wine now as well as the beer,
I took us for an illicit wee in big posh hotel before we walked off to see the closing festival fireworks display with tens of thousands of people. We enjoyed it even though clouds and trees obscured the view somewhat.
The very long walk back to hotel with feet blistered and legs aching, stopping at The Advocate pub for a drink and poster-nicking session so that Wiggly was able to have something to remind her of the week.
