Friends and family day visiting Mum and Dad and offering them a new car
After a late night, we all sleep well, waking about 7.30am. Morning drinks from Diana after softening her breasts feeding Daniella who had slept through for the first time. Then my Sunday fried breakfast which I ate with alacrity. A short time reading The Sunday Times before getting washed and dressed to receive the Tomblins for coffee. At 10.00am I let the ducks out and Daniel walks over to call the Tomblins in. we show them our photographs of Daniella and press cuttings of my company sale briefly before they had to depart in time to meet John Tomblin’s Aunt in Buckden.
I walk them round to their car and see Daniel safely off. We are sure they will have the time of their lives in the guest house at Scarborough. Then back to my Sunday Times until lunch and then we all set off to The Little Chef restaurant on the Cambridge Road to eat at 1.00pm. A crowded place with insufficient waitresses serving but eventually away again and, being early for my parents, we dropped off the A45 at Horningsea and looked at Waterworld – an aquatic garden centre full of fish and accessories. I collected brochures on the lean-to conservatories and workshops and also the July and August issues of ‘Practical Fishkeeping.’ After a while, off to my parents at Stanton and found them well and in good health. We stayed for tea, showed them our scrapbook and took their instructions for ordering a new Ford Escort 1300L Estate that I have decided to buy for them. Home in early evening and time for me to shampoo, rinse and leather the car and put the ducks away.
