Day of personnel matters, interviews and attending to myself as the car is services and the dentist gives me news of three fillings being needed as the drier and milder weather makes the house hot
On time to the office and first to wade through all of the group expenses, upset as normal by the few that were not properly completed. I am getting a stickler in my old age! – but it is so important to do things properly and get them right first time. Then to quickly touch base with Peter King about interview preparations and then off at 9.00 to town to drag the Rover off for repair and on to Dr Osborne the dentist for a check-up. He pronounces three fillings are needed (which is all I want) and a return date is arranged for the deed to be done.
Back to the office by taxi (£1.65 + tip = £2) with twenty minutes to prepare for the morning interview for an aspiring technical support candidate for Nottingham. Then the interview and all content before an office lunch of sandwiches and water and an early afternoon dealing with the desk paperwork and mail. At 3.00pm Helen Smith arrives for the interview for Xitan Sales Exec and Geoff Lynch is duly delayed (surprise, surprise) and I have to conduct the preparation alone. Then the interview which finished late and home earlier than normal. The house tonight felt hot and the television loud and obtrusive – I wonder how to deal with both of these problems and decide that it has not been a very good day to consider domestic change. A vigorous walk back to the garage from the office today to collect the car as everybody had left by the time I was ready to go. Weather milder and dry.
