A warm and sunny day ideal for today’s Little Paxton School Fête, where I sold 19 books and raised money for the good cause and for Linda and Nigel Smith’s barbecue later at Hail Weston House where the children swam in the pool and we met and drank lots on a warm and humid evening.
Another very warm day in ideal weather for today’s Little Paxton School Fête. Sometime this morning tending the conservatory and garden – watering plants and feeding the fish. The new Koi is still nervous but feeds a little. I spent the some time then preparing for this afternoon’s fête. I loaded up the Range Rover with plenty of my books and made up the display for the stall. We went across to the school to help set up a Brownie Stall and find out where we could set out my books. We set up a sunshade, chairs, table etc. and had our lunch at the school before the fête was opened at 1pm by our neighbours dressing up as ‘Hinge and Bracket’. During the afternoon, I sold just 19 books which raised £38 for the good cause.

Di won the main raffle prize which was a bit embarrassing again. This evening, we went over to see Linda and Nigel Smith at Hail Weston House for their barbecue. We took the girls who swam and played with the other children, whilst we drank and ate a succession of stakes and the griddled goodies. We got home at midnight and all the children (and us) were very tired and went straight to bed as a result, on a warm and humid evening
