An altercation with Diana refusing contact on a cold night before a colder and poor day full of interruptions until I could get on later with account reconciliations and writing. Debbie saw the doctor today with poor hearing lately but had wax build up after swimming.
Percy and some other colleagues were apparently successful canvassing for LibDem members and helpers in Little Paxton tonight. Former Prime Minister, Ted Heath, seems to have secured the release of the elderly and infirm British hostages from Iraq. British trade figures are better for the month but still in deficit and sterling is losing ground
I was cold when I went to bed last night and then, trying to get closer to Diana, I had a kicking and elbowing match which ended up with Di storming off to the spare bedroom which was a bit unfortunate. I was woken up this morning by her radio and have been aware of having a stiff back from my days in London. Either it was the length of time in the driving seat or the poor beds at The Holiday Inn that caused it. After breakfast, I tried to get down to some office work and was struggling to achieve such things all day. I had to do bitty things such as reconciling my credit card account and filing and was continually interrupted by telephone calls from constituents and all else who never seem to want to put pen to paper but will just telephone me instead. I must have had a dozen calls and each of them led to action of some sort.

I had to take Della to school today as Di was taking Debbie to the doctor and then on to her horse-riding. Debbie has not been hearing too well and a hearing test was planned but the doctor found so much wax in her ears that he wanted this cleared out first. We have to put some oil drops in and then another appointment is made for her ears to be syringed. Later in the morning I did my chores and also swept the swimming pool area clear of leaves and watered the flower baskets which were quite dry. Lunch and tea came and went and eventually I was up to date with my paperwork and things were quite clear. I ended with my journal and hope that my back is better tomorrow so that I can get some outside jobs done.
Percy and some other colleagues were canvassing for LibDem members and helpers in Little Paxton tonight and seemed to be having some success. The weather was much colder today but still dry and, the way that the grass has been growing, I will soon have to mow the lawns again. Former Prime Minister, Ted Heath, seems to have secured the release of the elderly and infirm British hostages from Iraq but the names and numbers will not be known until they are ready to board the specially-chartered Virgin aircraft tomorrow. The British trade figures are better for the month but still in deficit and sterling is losing ground steadily against the German Mark.
