Billy Wright, a leading Loyalist who had been ordered to leave Northern Ireland by the Combined Loyalist Military Command (CLMC) addressed a group of supporters at midnight; the time of the deadline set by the CLMC.
A bomb was thrown through the window of the home of Alex Kerr's parents (Alex Kerr was also under threat from the CLMC but was in police custody at the time of the attack).
