Staying on Paxton Princess whilst having meetings with architect and quantity surveyor to discuss and agreed plans for Heronshaw’s replacement which was for a smaller bungalow with less cost and complexity and also a boat-house in the dyke and new wet dock to retain the same amenity as before
We slept well enough on board the boat and awoke at 6.30am to the sound of the birds singing the morning chorus. Diana went first up to Heronshaw for a bath, and I got the table out of the locker and then followed for a bath and hair-wash myself. Breakfast back on board and then we sat and looked through the architect's information, deciding what to do about Heronshaw. To Wroxham and the shops, following morning coffee at the Riverside Cafe. Phone calls to the architects who we agree to meet this afternoon, and to a few other parties to keep in touch. Shopping until noon and then back for lunch where I met Jack who had come round to look over the property.

Then the chap from Wroxham Fencing came round and delivered the last things that we need to complete the fencing and we could set off for Coltishall. The architect met us with the quantity surveyor, and we went over the costing of Heronshaw’s replacement and, after an hour's discussion agreed on the next way forward; which is for a smaller bungalow with less cost and complexity and also a boat-house in the dyke and new wet dock to retain the same amenity as before. Diana is also reconciled to this formula, and it certainly makes best use of the land. Once home again, I rigged up permanent shore power supply for the boat and Diana mowed the lawn with a new lawn mower that we bought today. This evening, I took Diana to a nice meal at the Wroxham Bridge Restaurant which was up to their normal high standard.
