The family join me in Norfolk after visiting Mum and collecting the Escort for Daniel. I eventually managed to bail out the water service trench for the plumber to connect Harnser.
I was then hopping about between Heronshaw and the Horning Staithe getting my boat in to save the quay space for tomorrow's wood arrival and car and trailer in position opposite
It poured with rain all night and I was despairing of ever getting the trench dug and the water and electricity services along it. It was still raining as I awoke and then, when I actually noticed it stop, I was out straight away with buckets and bailers emptying the excavations of the copious amounts of water that had accumulated. I had only just finished the baling and had started the trench when the workers arrived, and I got them to help me dig it as Dave Goodman had said that the plumber would be here this morning! David Birchinall did arrive at dinner time and was able to connect both ends of the water service pipe and so the first service was connected to the new building.

The men were struggling with the hired "Skill Saw" packing up and the fitting of the haunches and drilling of the holes for the stud bolts. The drill was not man enough and kept going of course. There started a whole debate about using coach screws instead but, once the tool hire people had found us a long auger, they managed. This afternoon, I was hopping about between Heronshaw and the Horning Staithe getting my boat in to save the quay space for tomorrow's wood arrival and car and trailer in position opposite. I had some time to check on future supplies of board, insulation and roofing and then landscaped the access to the boat for the arrival of the family later on.
They arrived in late afternoon having had a good trip to see Mum on the way. Daniel brought them in Di's car so that he could borrow it thereafter, but the pity was that the girls had played up on the way and put Diana under pressure. I settled them in to the Paxton Princess, now moored at Horning Staithe, and then took them all out for a Piccasso's Pizza meal there before coming back for an hour to complete the preparations for tomorrow's land-fill effort by clearing the driveway, having a bath and then joining them for the night.
