Struggling along to the St James Church Remembrance Sunday Service suffering from cold but could still enjoy Anderson's best beef roasted for lunch. I had visited Dad’s grave yesterday morning, and was upset to see that the cemetery gates had been stolen again by thieves cutting through the hinges and removing them
I was very poorly today, suffering with my cold brought on by the time spent outside and up late yesterday. I had achy limbs and felt cold and so spent much of the morning in bed, reading my book on shooting, "Goose Fever". A long book about a Norfolk man's addiction to the sport and his yearly trips to Scotland where he and his friends had the time of their lives stalking and killing geese. I got up to watch the Whitehall Remembrance Day Service on the TV and then washed and dressed to be at the lunch table as Diana had roasted some of Anderson's best beef which we all enjoyed.

Daniel's friends Gary and Jason came to see him, and I joined them in the lounge and chatted to them for a while but Daniel soon had to leave for Norfolk. I had difficulty with what to do with myself this afternoon; too ill to concentrate on work yet not content with wasting time and laying down. My legs were also uncomfortable and jumpy so that I could not sit in the lounge and keep Diana company. After tea, it was time for the St James Church remembrance service, and I bravely dressed and got myself ready to join Diana for the event and give her moral support. I survived the evening with my cold but found my eyes streaming from both this and the poignancy of the service as we sung a hymn that featured in my dad's funeral service nearly three years ago. I had visited his grave yesterday morning, the nearest day I could manage to his birthday, and was upset to see that the cemetery gates had been stolen again by thieves cutting through the hinges and removing them. Some time watching "The House of Elliott" on TV with Diana this evening and then to bed reading my shooting book whilst rubbing Diana's head to remove her period headache.
