I forwent the Harlow dog training day as the weather was hot and sunny and so spent some time working on the extension to the balcony as Debbie took Sam and Della sailing in the dinghy and then all in The Jolly for the trip to The New Inn for lunch.
The afternoon drive to Frigby Wildlife Park to see the rare animals, birds and reptiles and off by Jolly again to Horning village for a Chinese meal at Mr Chann's. The three Dunham girls have now returned and were here for much of the day.
As if to start off on the right footing after the miserable weather of July, August came in with a fanfare of sun and warmth. I had intended to take Sam for an afternoon's dog training in Harlow but thought the better of it when I looked up the map and saw how long a journey it was for a hot holiday Sunday and so I stayed with the family instead. Up early this morning as the brightness awoke the wildlife, Sam and then me earlier than usual. Some food and a walk for the dog before breakfast and then, the family still getting ready, I read the remainder of yesterday's newspaper before my morning cereal.

Some time working on the extension to the balcony as Debbie went sailing in the dinghy, then all in The Jolly for the trip to The New Inn for lunch. Nice roast beef for me and chicken for Di. I was in two minds over missing Sam's training course, but I enjoyed the afternoon drive to Frigby Wildlife Park. The Timms family keep a nice array of rare animals, birds and reptiles, nicely set out in a sequential walking tour. Back for a couple of hours to finish off my new step and then off by Jolly for a Chinese meal at Mr Chann's. Another nice cruise there and back and time to tour Horning river front and Ropes Hill Dyke. Debbie has taken to the sailing dinghy, and with Della for a passenger and even Sam, she is gradually getting the hang of it. The three Dunham girls have now returned and were here for much of the day. My journal for these last two days and then to bed at a reasonable time.
