More administration on another fine and sunny day, as Diana shops, Debbie sails and Daniel drives.
I called Nigel and finalised the dates of our shooting holiday in Caithness as we both have to hope that his court case for alleged insurance fraud turns out all right so that he will actually be available to come and not in jail!
Another fine and sunny day which is ironic as we are still back in Paxton on a break from our Norfolk holiday. Two longer walks for Sam, including some swimming in the gravel pits as even I had to agree he was getting a bit smelly. I was stuck in my office again for another day's paperwork and first I finished archiving July's journal as I waited for news on the property purchases. The solicitors acting for us on both transactions seem difficult to contact and so slow in dealing with things that we had to keep chasing them.
At one stage, it looked as if both would fall through for this week and then that both could go ahead and then... I got fed up with them and got on with other things. A call from the manageress of Shepherds Grove Park and a long chat which could prove helpful in completing the affairs of my late mother's estate. Arrangements made for the Discovery to be serviced next Monday and for my health screening repeat next month. Later, I called Nigel and finalised the dates of our shooting holiday in Caithness but we both have to hope that his court case for alleged insurance fraud turns out all right so that he will actually be available to come and not in jail! I keep joking about it with him but he must be very worried for now and will be relieved when it is all over.
I used Daniel's help to drive off to Peterborough and Biggleswade and buy the dog-meal and dove food that we are short of and made arrangements for him to do the same thing tomorrow to get my vehicle gun cabinet from Lincoln. At least he is useful for some things! Got Diana and Della picking the remaining plums from the tree and we continue amazed that such a small tree can produce such a large crop. I cut open a large number and removed the stones so that the girls could eat as much as possible but I doubt that we shall manage to eat them all.
Della came back fine from her night away but mad to play model racing cars but we made such good progress in clearing the swimming pool water, that I let the girls swim in it this evening for the first time since we came back. Diana has lost another two pounds in weight this week and is pleased with going to the Boots weighing machine each week. I finished my work at a more reasonable time tonight and broke off to watch some TV.
