Taking Diana to U.E.A. at Norwich for Daniels Degree Confirmation and then lunch afterwards with Gary at The Sprowston Manor Hotel. Then collecting Daniel’s television, video and sectional desk from his flat.
I heard from Freda this evening who had received my letters and taken them in good part. Now she will get an estimate of the value of Redgrave with a view to trying to realise her investment and repay the money that she owes to me
I had arranged for Diana to call me early again as we had a big day in store. Though still tired from yesterday, I got up quickly and fed and exercised Sam. Breakfast with the girls at the start of a another hot day and then quickly loaded up and off by Discovery for our journey to Norwich. Diana insisted on stopping at a Little Chef for morning coffee and, even though we did not wait for the delayed toasted tea cakes, it still took too long and we were thereafter struggling to get to Daniel's house in time to see him before he left.

Therefore to University Plain where we parked and then congregated with the other parents at the University of East Anglia sports hall for the degree presentations. We had our new camera and I took a number of pictures of Daniel and the ceremony and then, afterwards, also snapped him with his four friends, all in their mortar boards and gowns which looked very grand. We stopped to get his new certificate framed with a special mount and also got his photograph taken by the official portrait photographers and then drove away and treated Daniel and Gary to an expensive lunch at The Sprowston Manor Hotel.
The good food at this Five Star Hotel was rather spoiled by us having to eat it in hot window seats. Back home in some more exceptional traffic as this Friday seemed to have marked the start of the holiday season. I think that I am spoiled with having the roads relatively traffic-free in the winter and rue the presence of such other people. We had picked up Daniel's TV, video and sectional desk from his flat on the way and I had to unload all that as well as deal with a dog who was very good but still missed us for the day.
