Choosing Sam's Lintran Travel box on a very cold and wet day, progressing planning consent for our Cambridge Street renovations and heating of Daniel’s interview plans
A difficult night caused, in my view, by Diana taking off too many of the bedclothes and then leaving the window open in a much cooler spell. She stomped off, accusing me of tossing and turning and putting my cold feet on her side of the bed where the warmth was! I had stayed up late puzzling over how to accommodate Sam on the Paxton Princess after Di had expressed concern about sharing the boat with him.

I acted on these concerns this morning by first telephoning and then visiting a company called Lintran in Lincoln who manufacture fibreglass and plastic mesh gun-dog travel boxes. I called on Steven and invited him to come with me and we chose a good design that would be of use in both the car and boat and I also ordered a gun-safe drawer to go underneath it. Earlier, I had spoken to Andrew Hird, of Ekins, to try and progress my Harnser planning problems and was pleased to hear that he had not given up hope of getting them to agree to "insert the word "separately" somewhere in clause three".
I also progressed the planning background to our proposed acquisition of 50-52 Cambridge Street with Southern Area HDC Planning Control Officer, Andy Carmichael, and received a satisfactory response. Daniel was in Paxton by the time I got back in the afternoon, ready to stay overnight and then travel for his Heathrow job interview. I gave him some advice on asking and answering interview questions and was pleased to hear that he had a further job interview planned for Diss and would also be applying for the HDC trainee computer post.
Two long walks with Sam today and then out this evening taking off all of the car seat covers and investigating how well the Discovery boot could be loaded with the dog crate in place and was pleasantly surprised that it could sit securely upon three plastic storage boxes with room for a further upright stack alongside. In to my journal and ruefully concluded that another day had passed with me not making any inroads into my backlog of administration. Today was very wet and cold for most of it, the rain clearing later to be just cold and dull. After heating the pool for a few days swimming, Diana has now switched the heating off again and I am glad as the steam coming off the water looked quite incongruous.
