Celebrating Fathers Day at home after walking Sam, enjoying a fine fried breakfast surprise and then taking Di to watch the film "Indecent Proposal" in the evening
I lay in quite well after getting to sleep quite late but Diana was up and brought me a cup of tea on so-called "Father's Day". No sign of the girls and so out to feed and walk the dog and I gave him a good run and had no trouble. In fact, on a warm and sunny morning, I took the retrieving dummy and got him to do some work which included a full swimming water retrieve.

Back home for a fine fried breakfast surprise but Diana told me that I can only expect such a treat on Father's Day. I opened nice cards from Daniel, Debbie and Della and presents from the girls. Debbie got me a fur-lined glasses stand for my desk and Della a finely-carved wooden box filed with pieces of fudge! Out to wash, rinse and leather the new car, stopping only for morning coffee and then in to relax and watch the Second Test where England were fighting to save the match which was a forlorn hope. I did the same after a fine lunch of Beef Terriaki which is now the family favourite.
I got another long walk this afternoon as I took Diana and the girls (and Sam) up to the cemetery to spend a little time by Dad’s grave on this day. The girls and Sam were quite good whilst Diana and I were by the grave. More cricket until stumps and then I took Diana to Bedford to see the latest Robert Redford and Demi Moore film "Indecent Proposal" which I quite enjoyed. The girls had looked after themselves and our custom of going to the earlier performance meant that we were home in time to put them to bed and for me to update these last two days' journal.
