The weather had turned wet and mild overnight with the wind first strong and then moderating towards dawn so that it was much more pleasant for me to walk Sam. In fact, I got him into the water over at the gravel pits as he has to learn to enter cold water willingly which will be vital when being a gun dog in earnest. This was a vindication of my decision to get Bill mowing the lawn yesterday, but he did not necessarily see it that way and was complaining about being out in the cold. I gave him some more tasks for the day and then got back to my office where I had urgent calls to make.

I had to discuss the selection of available properties with Julian Payne and also progress a few of the agents and let them know of my latest views. I also managed to prepare the National Savings forms for the Trustees to sign so that mature Yearly Plan investments can be redeemed for cash. The morning ended as usual in a mad rush to get things ready for my short trip to Horning. A quick bowl of soup and some bread whilst Daniel came back briefly over his lunch break and then I saw Diana having returned from her visit to Cambridge on my way out.
A fair journey which ended in some foggy and murky weather by the time I arrived in Norfolk. I erected my aerial, unloaded, and then walked the dog before it got too dark to do any more outside.
