On a damp morning, I walked the girls to the bus stop on their first day back to Kimbolton school.
Received some cheques to provide cash relief, had a disaster with Sam during dog training and watched England beat Poland 3-0 on televised World Cup qualifying football
We had rain overnight and that was to continue off on on this morning and again throughout the day. After the dry weather locally, now the ground is looking green once more. I was able to see the girls off to school at the bus stop on their first day back and they were fine for their first day even if Debbie was true to form in leaving something on the school bus! I was then delighted with the mail.

Some repayment cheques that I had been waiting for which gave us the cash that we were urgently needed to meet our commitments. The contractors arrived soon after with my replacement windscreen for the Discovery and that meant that I could go out to town for a few hours. Morning coffee at Brackenbury's then I paid in the cheques and made the transfers whilst Diana got her bits of shopping. Some work this morning and then attended Diana at first this afternoon before a more relaxing time later as I first got us connected to the Satellite Sports Channel and then watched World Cup qualifying football. Great satisfaction in seeing England beat Poland 3-0 and playing well to boot.
I made progress with Sam on his basic obedience today but my walk with him this afternoon was a disaster. First he flushed a pheasant, then pegged one of her cheepers and finally flushed a whole covey of partridges again; all at a time that I am trying to avoid game to make him quieter and steady! More rain forecast for the next few days so that it may not be possible to paint the river frontage as I had wanted to do. I met Sally Guinee's mother in town today and heard that Sally is now expecting another baby which is good news indeed.
