Loggers Leap in Thorpe Park Chertsey in 1994

Our first trip to Thorpe Park in Chertsey in the sun and showers with Diana having a tantrum over the girls arguing and me not seeming to be enjoying the break wholeheartedly.

Daniel joined us to collect Debbie and then and then the rest of us over to a nearby "Harvester" restaurant for a meal before settling down for the night.

It was a troubled start to the day as Diana had a tantrum after we had all used the bathroom. The trigger was the running arguments between the two girls but she was also upset with me not seeming to be enjoying the break wholeheartedly.

She was all set to go home without breakfast but I calmed her down, lent her a handkerchief and then took us all down to the dining room where we enjoyed a very nice buffet meal.

The drive to near Chertsey to Thorpe Park where, to our relief and after some pouring rain, the sun came out and, interspersed with clouds and rain, allowed us to get in and round without getting soaked.

At least, the temperatures were mild and the rain not too uncomfortable. The park consists of a number of rides and attractions and is set on an island amongst the reservoirs there. I liked the visit by boat and steam train to a nearby 1930's-style traditional farm.

Back to the vicinity of the hotel in time for Debbie to be collected by Daniel, which rendezvous had been arranged or 5.00pm. We entertained Daniel for a while in the hotel for a rest after his journey, giving him some hot chocolate to drink.

A rest for us and then over to a nearby "Harvester" restaurant for a meal before settling down for the night.
