To London for the start of my weekend with Di and the girls as Daniel looked after Sam. Tunnelling for the new extension to The Bakerloo Line had gone horribly wrong and underground collapses put paid to a lot of road access to Terminal 3.
Checked into the The Heathrow Marriott Hotel before off to The West End to spend the evening watching a performance of Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap" in its 42nd year.

I took trouble walking Sam this morning as he was going to be in the hands of Daniel for the next few runs. Up early and out with him after breakfast, running him through hedgerows and cover and also giving him some retrieves to improve his game-holding and delivery.

Much of the rest of the morning writing up the care instructions for the dog so that Daniel would be in no doubt how to feed and exercise him.
Then, after Diana had packed for the weekend and the girls had broken up from school at lunch-time, we got them aboard. loaded up the luggage and set off down the A1, eating the sandwiches that Di had prepared for us to save time. The journey around the M25 and along the M/A4 went all right, despite the weight of traffic in the other direction and road chaos in the area.
It seems that the tunnelling for the new extension to The Bakerloo Line has gone horribly wrong and underground collapses have put paid to a lot of road access to Terminal 3. The less-safe "Austrian" method of tunnelling that does not allow for pre-cast concrete linings to be put in place as excavation proceeds and uses splashed-on concrete instead was being blamed.
We arrived at The Heathrow Marriott Hotel (at Slough) in early afternoon and, once we had checked in, I joined Diana and the girls for a swim in the hotel pool. We then changed and started making our way towards The West End, stopping for tea at a service area on the M4.
We had arranged to spend the evening watching a performance of Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap" in its 42nd year. The girls had not seen it before, and it was around half of that time ago that Diana and I had seen it and had forgotten that the policeman was the murderer and so our enjoyment was not spoiled.
An enjoyable evening and then late home and to bed. News of a knee-jerk reaction from the Israeli Government who have retaliated to the bus bomb attack in Tel Aviv by shelling a Gaza community with anti-personnel ammunition.
