I finally ended my marriage to Diana and moved into Wiggly’s flat

It was during this month of unusual hot, humid and sultry weather that I finally ended my marriage to Diana and moved into Wiggly’s flat whilst we looked for a place to rent together.

Wiggly formally finally presented her resignation letter as her career had been mishandled by Unilever. I had been again organising some LibDem branch affairs and FOCUS advertising plans.

A busy month of social activity seeing shows with both Wiggly and Diana and also taking part in family events with the girls. These included Debbie's 16th Birthday Party and Della's 11th Birthday Party and Kimbolton Prep Swimming Gala but I was sad at not being able to see them more often.

As well as updating my investment summary and working on my Financial Summaries for the year, I was full of plans for Redgrave; discussing them with Freda and Alf accordingly, made more difficult when they turned down the chance of having a National Lottery terminal!

A month of unusual hot, humid and sultry weather

My property search was being thwarted by a former political adversary,  Tory, Peter Norman as I was trying to progress a rental interest his No 2 West Street.

I finally ended my marriage to Diana and moved into Wiggly’s flat whilst we looked for a place together. There followed a day or two of doubt about the implications of this before I then collected my things from The Hayling View and proceeded.

There had also been much soul-searching with Wiggly over her giving up her job and house to move in with me until she suggested giving up her job and work properly with me as my personal assistant and training in financial and investment management.

This, whilst continuing her course for a diploma, which seemed to be a good plan. We were working together and continuing to get on well as we started viewing properties together, touring the St Neots urban area looking for suitable houses to live in for which I made offers later.

She started going through my in-tray and completing a number of tasks on my behalf. Wiggly was then all set on resigning her job with Unilever as they were giving her a nonsense job when her department was closing.

Upon informing her Mum she had a screaming fit and slammed the telephone down which only led to more tears and upset on what had already been a most difficult day for her.

Wiggly formally finally presented her resignation letter and had an understanding ally in colleague Alex whose career had also been mishandled by Unilever. We had struggled to cope with the Wiggly work trauma but it then ended better with her work farewell,

I was also managing some organisation with respect to the FOCUS advertising plan to put things back on the rails and encourating the Huntingdon LibDem AGM to agree compromises and retaining activists.

I had to chair a poorly-attended evening's strategy meeting and there was always case work and chores to do for the LibDems before overseeing a better LibDem evening Branch Meeting.

Socially, Wiggly and I enjoyed a variety of outings to see My Fair Lady at the Cambridge Theatre Royal, the Norwich Theatre Royale, the 1920's musical "Boyfriend" in Cambridge and to a Cambridge Fringe evening for a performance of "The Threepenny Opera".

She was still attending St Neots Drama group evening rehearsals at a local Eynesbury primary school. For this, we attended Kathy & Richard's Cambridge party where Wiggly got drunk and crept off for cigarettes until I had to extract her from the shrubbery and take her home hopelessly inebriated!

There were plenty of meals out at The Floating Restaurant in Norwich and lunch at the Riverside Café in Horning watching the Regatta as well as snacks and drinks at the Waffle House in Norwich, a pub on The Granta and The Falcon our local Wheatsheaf pub in Eynesbury. All of thee activities followed by very enjoyable love-making

During very precious family time. I had spent much of the day preparing for Debbie's 16th Birthday Party which was mainly a success with 150 guests spending over £450 at Daniel’s bar but also subjected to violent gate-crashing by ‘Leeroy’ and friends.

The Party Aftermath followed with us thinking about the trouble at the party and wondering how we could have avoided it. On any future occasion it would be by written invitation and ticket only.

Diana graciously invited me to join the present opening on Della's 11th Birthday and I still accompanyed her for the varicose vein operation at The Cromwell Clinic in Huntingdon.

We followed this by attending the Kimbolton Prep Swimming Gala with Diana still disabled, and I set up Della’s new telescope and we all attended the family Dentist Appointment.

Gradually, things were getting more difficult as I was missing my family but a few days’ trial to return home to Diana and the children did not work and the separation was complete.

I was still able to see the girls; watching the film "Innocent Lies" at the Showcase Cinema in Peterborough together and back to watch  film, "First Knight" with Della which we thoroughly enjoyed.

We had a nice time playing Monopoly, and I also went bowling and then roller skating with the girls. Though I had a nice chat with both Debbie and Della, explaining things, I was sad at not being able to see them more often.

I still hand to attend to business this month, updating my investment summary for the end of the tax year on April 5th and working on my Financial Summaries for the year. My head was full of plans for Redgrave discussing a detailed summary of intended plans with Freda and Alf

Also spending time with Alf and contacting tradesmen and others about the work we need to do to the property. These Redgrave plans suffered reverses when learnt of their poor financial planning and when Freda and Alf turned down the chance of having a National Lottery terminal!

I worked on Redgrave statistics and had to arrange a Redgrave stocktaking effort with Freda and Wiggly, booking a visit for the electrical contractor and surveying other shops in the area to better understand the loal retail market. I took part in the Spar tour to Kings Lynn and Sandringham
