We found gloriously hot weather in California after snow, ice and rain at home during a month.
I was distracted from finance and investment, but I agreed to the design for the Heronshaw replacement, and a £3,500 alteration to Harnser as I started working with my Psion.
Also not a lot of time for training Sam and he was sent to kennels for our time away. I watched Norwich City play draw an exciting match with Manchester City and triumphed in the Premier League 3-0 against local rivals Ipswich Town.
Also saw England beat Scotland to take the Calcutta Cup, the Grand Slam and the Five Nations Championship all in one go.
It was a busy month for me as the local organiser for the Liberal Democrats getting colleagues elected to key posts and helping my fellow St Ives LibDem in crisis.
Much of my private time was spent seeing Wiggly as our relationship deepened but I tried to see Diana as well.
The family holiday to California took up the rest of the month; with time first in San Francisco, then Anaheim at favourite venues such as Universal Studios, Knotts Berry Farm, Disneyland in the north and then the ships and Sea World Park in Dan Diego.
I opted not to go on a possible day trip from San Diego to Mexico in favour of a more relaxing Pacific Beach outing in the sun.
Back home, John Major had major problems on his hands over the European Common's vote and Tony Blair was hosting a breakfast at The Dorchester with many top businessmen to compete for support.

After I left for California later in the month, we experienced gloriously hot and sunny days continuously, but we left behind a month at home that has seen snow falling hard and settling such that the ground was blanketed with snow and ice.

This then recovered with a strange mixture of anticyclonic clear skies and sun, before worsening as we had ice and frost at night punctuated by squally showers of sleet and snow as the weather oscillated between sun, rain and hail with even snow swirls at times! and then a spell where we were pleasantly surprised to find how mild it was; even if stormy weather was expected later.
It was not a great month for finance and investment, but I had a final tax planning meeting with advisors and there then followed some hectic office and computer work checking emails and writing this journal. I was with Wroxham Builders finishing off the design for the Heronshaw replacement, agreeing to £3,500 for the alterations to Harnser. Increasingly, playing with my Psion and reorganising my disk files.
With other distractions, there was not a lot of time for training Sam, and he was sent to kennels for our holiday, but we managed to have sessions in Harlow and a shooting day with Jim and watching Norwich City draw an exciting match with Manchester City and triumphed in a Premier League 3-0 win against local rivals Ipswich Town and I often took Jim as well to see them. Jim and I also watched England beat Scotland to take the Calcutta Cup, the Grand Slam and the Five Nations Championship all in one go.
It was still a busy month for me as the local organiser for the Liberal Democrats, which started with me spending a day and evening managing a productive if stressed Huntingdon Constituency Meeting.
I got Percy elected as Chairman, Charles Looker as Vice-Chairman, Mark Rainer as Computer Data Officer, and got a personal endorsement for undertaking my inquiry to try and sort out the latest St Ives LibDem crisis. This involved constantly talking to Stuart Littlewood about his relationship with colleagues Angela and John Bush.
Back at home I turned to St Neots election & FOCUS plans planning my LibDem Ad campaign before Sally came good to organise the St Neots LibDem Jumble Sale St Neots. A good evening hosting and chairing a LibDems campaign strategy meeting and it seems that we will have a full slate of District and St Neots Town candidates and may even have paper candidates for Huntingdon and Ramsey.
Much of my private time was spent seeing Wiggly as our relationship deepened but she took it badly when I left for the USA holiday with Diana and my family. The month had started with great sex before dining at The Floating Restaurant.
Much of my private time was spent seeing Wiggly as our relationship deepened. It continued with theatre and shopping trips in Norwich, an evening Boat Race gig with and later to see Shakespeare's "Loves Labours Lost".
However, it was overshadowed by a significant Clinic 1a Visit and pathology results where I had contracted a genital wart virus from her. The mood of our relationship swung violently, and we had our biggest rows yet between very passionate and fulfilling love-making sessions.
She took it badly when I left for the USA holiday with Diana and my family but even then I tried to stay in contact. My philosophical letter to Wiggly did not go down well and put her in a prickly mood.
Back to my marriage I enjoyed a beautiful lunch made by Diana of her normal roast chicken and all the family were at home to eat it! We had a lunch of a steak each at The Falcon. We managed a Cambridge visit to Di's parents and a lunch of cheese and pastrami baguettes.
When at home, I was always walking the dog to see the girls off to school. I then left her shopping in Norwich. A working day, but I caught up with work at home.
Then, after a late night of preparation, off from Paxton to Heathrow and a full and difficult flight across the Atlantic and the US for our family holiday in California, collecting our "luxury" Lincoln Town hire car on arrival, which was our favourite.
After staying in Motel 6, we went off to Universal Studios where we had a full programme and saw The Flintstones, The Wild West, The Animal Actors and The Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue and also enjoyed the Back to the Future ride, the ET Adventure and Backdraft.
The next day, after breakfast at Coco’s on Beach Boulevard, we went on to Knotts Berry Farm for a variety of rides capped off by a Cordelia Knotts Chicken Dinner. Next day, we dropped of the girls to Disneyland by themselves and Diana and I drove off south to the Pacific Coast to see Newport Beach and the Balboa Peninsula.
The following day, Di's period restricted our day and time for our return to Knotts and instead I spent some time spent taking Di to the cinema. We recovered from a car breakdown this following day and eventually had an exchange Lincoln car which was almost identical. Another Disneyland session followed with waits for the new Indiana Jones ride, Star Wars and some others after the "Jungle Book" parade.
During our time in Anaheim, I checked out my pocket computer connection and managed a call to Dan on his 23rd Birthday, and for some reason I spent a night thinking of my early life in Tottenham and then catching up with messages after
Leaving Anaheim on the Freeway via St Clemente for breakfast next, we then drove to The Seven Seas Hotel in San Diego and, after settling in, I drove the car to the Embarcadero, where there was a display of classic ships including the Star of India queuing at the Sea World Park in San Diego.
The common theme was the sea and its creatures, including sharks, penguins, otters and all types of mammals. They had dolphins by the dozen, and groups of pilot and killer whales all performing as they do not believe in doing things by halves!
After, all this a possible day trip from San Diego to Mexico was abandoned in favour of Pacific Beach outing in the sun, which was much more relaxing. I was really missing Wiggly
