A further Glasgow conference day. The Albert Ingham award was being presented for the person organising the best Liberal Democrat campaign in the last year, for which I had been nominated by my local party. I am glad that I did not win it!

I think she really needs more sleep than me and she gets little opportunity during these hectic days, poor thing.

It was the presentation of the party awards today and amongst them was the Albert Ingham award for the person organising the best Liberal Democrat campaign in the last year, for which I had been nominated by my local party.
I didn't think that I had been selected for this award, particularly had no one had contacted me, but I felt I should be there anyway, just in case.
The winner was a campaigner who had won the first Liberal Democrat seat ever on a northern borough council and I am glad that he and his colleagues got this encouragement as it would have been embarrassing having publicity for working on Wiggly's behalf in Eynesbury.

Specially produced song-sheets were sold to make money for the party and these contained rewritten versions of popular songs, the lyrics now referring to Liberal Democrat personalities and policies.
We had met up with Alicia Davidson and her lively friend Jo Pemberton. I had sought out Alicia having heard from Peter Lee at the expulsion of Stuart Littlewood and true to form she was carrying around his latest eight page fax
. She still seems very committed to the Liberal Democrat cause and I don't think we have any cause for worry
