At home this morning on another snowy and icy day, I received my new electronic charts and spent most of the day on my computer navigation tool, breaking off at midday to see Roger Brittain to discuss my tax affairs.
Daniel arrived later and we enjoyed his company after we took his car to DAB autos to get it fixed and he enjoyed playing with my new laptop computer.
I chaired a joint Parish Council/Village Hall Committee meeting this evening and we agreed an outline design for expanding the hall.
The day started with much snow still on the ground and with an ice topping from the re-frozen melt of yesterday. School-girls on the way to St Neots were slipping and sliding down the slope to the Hayling Way. I was up early and got ready in good time for breakfast with the girls and then waited in the lounge reading this morning's newspapers until the postman arrived with the mail. I was pleased to find the new electronic charts and loaded these on to the computer. I spent most of the morning and the afternoon using the navigation planning tool, but broke off for a midday meeting with Roger Brittain to discuss my tax affairs.

Nigel had come by this morning to borrow my Range Rover for transporting his new horse and left me with his Volvo that I took into St Neots instead. Had time to drop by Clover Office Supplies for some media and then got back in time for a late lunch. Diana went out this afternoon, taking Della to Sandy to watch a Mathew Corbett "Sooty" puppy show. The plumber came and spent all day fitting a new radiator into the new hall area and letting the pipes into the floor to make a neat job. The builder/decorator could not therefore do anything and so went home to be out of the way. Daniel arrived after lunch and took his "bent" car into DAB Autos in St Neots to get it fixed. He was very interested in my new lap-top portable and, after being fascinated with my Wayplanner demonstration, ended up playing computer games on it.
I chaired a joint Parish Council/Village Hall Committee meeting this evening, and went ahead with the meeting despite a thick fall of fresh snow that made travelling very difficult. We agreed an outline design for expanding the hall and will now get it properly drawn up for presenting to separate meetings of the Parish Council and Village Hall Committee. It would involve the enlargement of the hall itself, addition of ancillary storage, and the provision of larger toilets, showers and changing rooms to make proper use of the playing field. I heard from Steven today and will take him with me to Norfolk for a couple of days, despite the weather to check out my boat and bungalow. We will try to get the rest of the garage work completed and to undertake some electrical work to the Paxton Princess. It was nice to have Daniel here in the family again and he seemed to enjoy being here as well.
