My normal Tuesday visit to Cambridge Visit to see her parents at Eadon Lilley's for de-caffeinated coffee with Diana but also for some election and administrative chores as well as working with Dr John Mathhewman. Lunch at the Little Chef and home to install my new switcher which can now receive fax transmissions. This evening chasing colleagues and catching up with my journal.
Late to bed but a very good night as I slept better than for some time. This was no doubt due to having finished the election artwork after much worry on that score. Up at a reasonable time this morning and, after breakfast and before setting off for Cambridge, I looked into the new telephone-line switcher that I had bought to see if I could install it in my office. The machine is supposed to intercept calls and turn on the FAX or answering machine as necessary to save having a separate telephone line dedicated to the FAX machine alone. I could see I was going to need a telephone extension line and so gave up the installation. I then loaded up the car for Cambridge with the election artwork to drop off, three toner cartridges to take back for re-filling, the Moss Bros suite to return, and my brief-case so as to be able to go and see Sue Sutton at Glisson Road.

We dealt with the art-work delivery on the way in and then I parked the car at a meter whilst Diana took the suit back and we met with her parents at Eadon Lilley's for de-caffeinated coffee. I left her to do some shopping whilst I drove off deliver the toner cartridges and then to Glisson road, hoping to see Sue. She was not there and so I helped John Mathhewman for an hour folding some leaflets on the automatic machine. He was not actually working on our order which was a bit upsetting, but we rely on his voluntary help and are not really in a position to complain. The toner cartridges were not ready in time either and so I bought some telephone accessories and drove off to collect Di at the Round Church car park for our 12.15pm rendezvous. Lunch on the way back at the Little Chef and then, once home, I installed this new switcher which can now receive fax transmissions. This evening, I made a number of telephone calls to chase up my colleagues about more election copy and also briefed the main organisers on what was happening about the leaflets. Then a long job, updating my journal for this last few days as I have hardly had a chance so far.
