Daniel and Angela had been having some sort of upset between them

Awake early on a misty start to a better day before Steve Bloom visited with tickets for the Southampton Boat Show Preview Day and stayed for a good chat about our past boating exploits.

Some morning croquet with Della after which I noted that Daniel and Angela had been having some sort of upset between them and she came late to the lunch table with eyes red from crying which was both sad and embarrassing.

Britain's Nigel Mansell beating Ayrton Senna into second place in an exciting Italian Grand Prix. News is all about Yugoslavian peace talks.

I was awake early today and still toying with the thought of driving to Heronshaw for the day but decided against it. Up early as well and enjoyed going down to the river to feed the doves and look at the fish in the gin-clear water. The weather was misty very early, but it had cleared by the time I was out. Just settling down for my nice fried breakfast this morning when Steven Bloom arrived unexpectedly and gave us a couple of tickets for the Southampton Boat Show preview day which was a very nice surprise. He sat and had a mug of tea as I ate my meal and then we chatted about our summer boating experiences and then ideas for riverside properties and boatsheds. He had to leave for home by mid-morning and so I played Della at croquet and then it was time for lunch.

Daniel and Angela had been having some sort of upset between them and she came late to the lunch table with eyes red from crying which was both sad and embarrassing. This afternoon, I watched an exciting Italian Grand Prix which ended up with Britain's Nigel Mansell beating Ayrton Senna into second place so as to start to catch him up in the championship table. After tea, I did some more work in my office so as to get rid of most of my paperwork. Daniel's friends have been bringing a rather nice young lady home this last couple of days which was much more interesting than the boys that were the only visitors before. News is all about Yugoslavian peace talks which I find very boring. I am now looking forward to driving the Rolls Royce down to Bournemouth and Southampton without the children which will make a nice change.
