Sam sleeps through and retrieves his first dummy on an even milder day but still fouls his run. This as the carpet is laid in Harnser and I commission the storage heater. Over 400 people have now been killed in the religious riots in India and the government has a full-scale emergency on their hands.
After a late exercise, Sam slept through until 7.30am which was real progress. I tried him with his first dummy retrieve in the alley-way behind Harnser and he managed it well though I did not give him a chance to get past me before "giving" it back. He makes less progress with his toilet training, messing on the paper inside his kennel which I will now remove. He also regressed in his car behaviour by climbing into the back seat after I took down some of the barrier. After a good shaking, he then was very good again and so I was able to be equally positive and affectionate in praising him.

The carpet layers came this morning and were a bit of a handful but, with me running around after them and watching them closely, they ended up by doing a very good job and actually left enough carpet to do the bathroom and toilet. I discussed this development with Diana and that is exactly what we decided to do. The decorator was lining the bathroom/toilet this evening and I started the day by getting up into the loft, forming the opening in the flooring and then arranging the items that were stored up there so as to be tidy. At the end of day, I commissioned the storage/convector heater in the hall which was quite a business but worth it for the background heat and protection that it gave. A trip to Wroxham for fried plaice for tea and noticed that the weather was even milder still. Over 400 people have now been killed in the religious riots in India and the government has a full-scale emergency on their hands.
