Tackling the dormers and fitting the gutters along the river front before the scaffolding was completely removed as we made ready for Page's to commission the sewage pump, and Stalham Joinery to come and glaze the windows. Being tired and cold with the chillier weather - I went with Steve to The Bridge Restaurant for our evening meal. The weather is now very autumnal, and the holiday season seems to have finished as early as it started late.
Steve was doing his early-morning session again this morning; wiring up more sockets before I was up and about. The scaffolders were due to come today to take the scaffold down and I had a hectic time trying to get certain of the work done that had to be done first. I persuaded the workmen to tackle the dormers and then to fit the sewage tank pump and dig the trench and I was up on the scaffold myself, fitting the gutters along the river front. Steve had also assembled the wall unit that was due to house the consumer units, and this meant that I could lay out the area for the wiring to be done which was the first priority. In all, a scrappy and inefficient day but at least we did some of the more difficult jobs to give plain sailing for the next few days.

I decided against closing down the building site yet; believing that we could get more done next week and the electricity on, and telephoned Diana accordingly. I arranged for Page's to come tomorrow to commission the sewage pump, notified the building inspector in case he wanted to see, and asked Stalham Joinery to come and glaze the windows and supply some furniture for the stable door. I could not work on this evening for very long - being tired and cold with the chillier weather - and so went with Steve to The Bridge Restaurant for our evening meal which we enjoyed as a change. The weather is now very autumnal, and the holiday season seems to have finished as early as it started late.
